About Mozart

Mozart builds software that helps food, beverage and foodservice suppliers recover invalid retailer and distributor deductions.

The role

Mozart builds software that helps CPG and foodservice suppliers recover money retailers and distributors wrongly deduct from their invoices. You would be the first engineer touching the product.

What you’ll do

  • Own the core pipeline: ingest deduction data (remittances, retailer portal exports, CSVs, PDFs), normalize it, and match each deduction to its invoice, PO and proof of delivery
  • Build the dispute engine: classify deductions (shortage, pricing, promo, compliance fines), flag the invalid ones, and assemble dispute packets with backup documents
  • Ship the supplier-facing dashboard: recovered dollars, open disputes, aging, win rate
  • Stand up the first pilot integrations and keep them running with real customer data
  • Set the foundations: data model, auth, audit logs, testing and deployment

You might be a fit if you

  • Have shipped real software end to end (a side project, startup, or internship), not just coursework
  • Are comfortable in TypeScript or Python, SQL, and a modern stack (we use GitHub, Vercel, Supabase)
  • Build fast with AI coding tools (Claude Code, Cursor) and know when to check their work
  • Like messy real-world data: PDF parsing, OCR, inconsistent CSVs
  • Want ownership and a direct line to customers

Bonus

LLM/agent work (structured extraction, tool use), document parsing, fintech or B2B SaaS, browser automation for portal scraping.
