About Mozart

Mozart builds software that helps food, beverage and foodservice suppliers recover invalid retailer and distributor deductions.

The role

You will turn how retail deductions actually work into the rules our software runs on. Every dispute Mozart files depends on knowing which deductions are valid, what proof wins, and how each retailer's process works.

What you’ll do

  • Build a deduction taxonomy: shortages, pricing, promo/trade, compliance fines, returns, spoilage, with codes mapped across major retailers and distributors
  • Write dispute playbooks per customer: required backup (POD, BOL, invoice, promo agreement), deadlines, portal steps, and what usually wins or loses
  • Design validation rules that tell valid deductions from invalid ones, and test them against real supplier data
  • Map the accounting side: how deductions hit AR, cash application and trade-spend accruals, and what reconciliation suppliers need from us
  • Sit in on customer calls and turn what suppliers tell us into product requirements

You might be a fit if you

  • Study accounting or finance and enjoy detailed, rules-based work
  • Are strong in Excel and can work through a large, messy dataset
  • Write clearly enough that an engineer can build from your spec
  • Are curious about how retail, CPG, and foodservice supply chains really run

Bonus

AR, AP, audit or revenue-recognition experience; CPG, food/bev or distribution exposure; familiarity with retailer portals or EDI; SQL.
